THE S7 STARTED LIFE IN 93 AS A 1981 MARK 5 FORD CORTINA 2.0 LTR GHIA. I bought it for the pricely sum of £75.00 with tax and m.o.t. Which gave me a chance to run the car around for a week to cheak the engine, gearbox and running gear didn't have any problems before I started to strip the car down. Two parts had to be modified by Robin Hood Engineering the propshaft and the steering column so they were sent up to Nottingham before the S7 kit was ready to pick up from them.
THE CORTINA STRIPPED OF ALL ITS MAJOR PARTS. FILLED UP WITH JUNK AND READY FOR THE SCRAP HEAP. There was no way it would have passed aother M.O.T. The N/S A/Post and N/S inner & outer sill were rotten and the O/S rear chassis member full of rust.
